One hundred years ago, the R 32 kick-started a unique success story.
Today BMW honors its eventful history with a new icon: the BMW R 18,
a model for absolute devotees that conveys a feeling of nostalgia.
The edition model boasts historic features with plenty of chrome,
and of course, the unique boxer engine.

2023 – the heritage

The idea pulls inspiration from vintage brand posters that use a projected reflection to emphasize the contrast between the old and new.
The R 18 Classic is a modern cruiser with a nostalgic sense of BMW design. It reminds one of the first BMW cruisers suitable for touring.
The centerpiece of the animation is the boxer engine, boasting the most significant displacement ever built and showcasing its consistent development history.
